Loire Life - holiday rentals and gite accommodation in the Loire Valley, France

 

Loire Life is a holiday gite business run by Alison & Jon, based near Saumur in the Loire Valley, France. Our first holiday cottage was L'Ancienne Cure, a two bedroomed, former presbytery in a small village some 25km north of Saumur and the Loire River. This was our holiday home for 5 years before we decided to make a permanent move across the Channel and turn our hobby into a holiday rental business.

 

We then embarked on a farmhouse and barn conversion project, which culminated in our gites Le Noyer (the farmhouse) and Le Figuier (barn conversion). Both are again situated north of Saumur in the Loire Valley. These gites have the added luxury of a swimming pool and hot tub. Our chambre d'hote (bed and breakfast) accommodation, Gue de Ray, is also here.

 

Having finished our gite projects for now, in 2009 we're looking to expand into cycling holidays in France, initially in the Loire Valley and we've recently launched our french cycling holiday website, www.loirelifecycling.com. Our self-guided routes take in some of the most beautiful scenery of the Loire Valley and we also cater for our guests in the evening. The swimming pool and hot tub are an added luxury on this holiday - great for soothing those aching muscles after a day on the bike!
